1st Quarter Newsletter

Published on 3/31/2016
Hello Members,
Well the 1st quarter of 2016 is here and gone.  It definitely has gone by very fast and BBTR is in full swing of events and outings.

We started with our annual Barstow to Ridgecrest 2016 in January and we had 70 riders attended including a lot of new members!  We stayed at The Heritage Inn once again  had the Saturday night dinner at Alli's which was perfect and the hotel included breakfast for all the riders, awesome for the price of riding, lunch both days, dinner, chase truck, breakfast and the friendships that were made!  It was a successful event again!

In February we had our normal club meeting up in Big Bear.  We usually have a club Chili Campout but with some many things going on this year we postponed til next year.

March we had a lot of things going on to make up for no campout last month. We had our annual Barstow to Avi (Laughlin, NV) ride and we had 70 members attend this event as well.  New course thanks to Gil Busick we took riders into Ludlow for lunch and had quite a few wives attend and help with the gourmet lunch for each rider, Thank you ladies!! Really appreciated the help and look forward to the next event.  We had 1 broken bike on Saturday and thanks to Bobito Yellen for bringing the rider into Laughlin, all the other riders arrived to the AVI and were greeted by the chase crew!  We all met up at 7:30 for dinner in the hotel buffet which was included with the ride entry and breakfast on Sunday morning as well.  Riders took off and headed to Barstow, Sunday we had 3 bikes break but all made it into Barstow safely.  One of the riders named Jeff broke down close to Baker so he stayed there and his riding buddy came into Barstow picked up his truck drove bake to Baker to pick up Jeff and the bike and headed home to San Diego and arriving home a little after 1:00 a.m. definitely a long day for them but they said they'll be back no stopping them.  Looking forward to the next event!

Easter Campout was the later part of March and we had quite a few rigs and members out in Copper City outside of Barstow.  Larry Ambrose and Steve Clark went out on Thursday to set up our BBTR camp spot,  Thank you and great job Larry and Steve!  This has become an annual event for BBTR to have Easter out in the desert, Saturday night pot luck Easter dinner, Easter Sunday breakfast thanks to Kent Fyfe and then we have an Easter egg hunt for the kids.  The kids enjoy it but the adults help them still and it doesn't matter the age they still look forward to looking for the eggs and thanks to Ruthie Morris they even have some money in the eggs! Thank you Ruthie for doing this for the kids!

Well the 1st quarter is over tonight and we are looking forward to a great 2nd quarter 2016.  We have quite a few events coming up so please come out and get involved representing BBTR!

June 25-26, 2016 Big Bear Run 2016 Get yourselves ready for our annual fundraiser event that lets us help the different charities every year such as Ride for Kids, District 37 Dual Sport, Thundering Trails, Big Bear High School Scholarship, Philanthropic, San Bernardino National Forest and many others.

Thank you all for your past memberships and welcome to all the new members that have joined us this year.  We are a family of riders that love the sport of Dual Sport.  We have monthly club meetings and a ride afterwards who ever wants to ride so please don't hesitate to attend a meeting to get to know what our club is all about.  We really appreciate any volunteers to help out at the different events and outings.  Looking forward to meeting all of you this year and having a successful 2016 for BBTR!
